Your Skinny Dip Troubleshooting Guide – 6 Solutions to the Most Common Questions
Your Luxe Lounger is unpacked, inflated, almost ready – and something doesn't look quite like the product photos. Maybe there are a few too many creases. Maybe it's sitting slightly crooked. Maybe it looks smaller than you expected at first glance.
Don't worry – every one of these has an easy fix.
We've gathered the questions we hear most often from our Customer Support team and put them into a short guide – so your Skinny Dip summer starts as relaxed as it should.
1. Got the wrong color?
Example photo: what you first see when you open the box is the blue inner base.

This is probably the most common question – and nothing to worry about.
What you see when you open it is the inner base of the pool: it's blue in every edition. This inner base is what creates the turquoise water effect once the pool is filled.
The color you ordered – light blue, pink, peach, or ivory – can be found:
- printed on the outside of the box
- on the outside and the pool walls once you unpack it
If you're still unsure, send us a quick message with a photo and we'll sort it out in minutes.
2. My pool is losing air.
Example photo: on the left, the valve isn't closed properly; on the right, how it should look when sealed.

If your pool slowly loses air after inflating, the valve is usually the culprit – and it's a fix that takes seconds.
What you can do:
- When you close the valve, make sure the stopper is pushed in firmly.
- Push the stopper all the way in until it sits flush with the valve – just like in the photo on the right.
- If the stopper is still sticking out (like in the photo on the left), air will slowly escape. One firm push is usually all it takes.
Once the stopper is seated properly, the pool will hold air reliably – and keep its firm, full shape.
3. There are creases in the pool.
Example photo: this is how the pool looks when it isn't quite firm yet.

Creases are completely normal when you first set it up. They smooth out once there's enough air in the pool – and look even better by the next morning.
What you can do:
- Add a little more air until the pool looks firm and slightly taut (but don't overinflate!).
- By the next day – once it's been in the sun and filled with water – it'll look noticeably better.
The warmth gently softens the PVC and the water stretches the pool back out – so by the next morning, it'll look just right.
4. It looks smaller than expected.
Example photo: right after inflating vs. the next day.

We hear this a lot – and it sorts itself out too.
At 230 cm across, the Luxe Lounger is bigger than it first looks. Right after setup, the PVC tends to tighten up a little, especially when it's cool. As soon as:
- the sun heats it up
- the water fills it
- a few hours have passed
...it relaxes and reaches its full size. By the next day, you'll see a real difference.
Pro tip from our Care Guide
After filling it for the first time, let it sit overnight before you jump in. That gives the PVC time to fully settle – and the pool looks its best in the morning.
5. There are creases in the base.
Example photo: creases in the base during the first fill.

Also normal – and also easy to fix. The key moment is when you add the water:
- Before adding water, smooth out the base with your hand.
- Once the first few liters are in, gently pull on the side walls.
- The weight of the water flattens the base out – and most creases disappear within the first few minutes.
The Wrinkle Hack
This is the same trick we recommend in the Care Guide: gently pull on the side walls and lightly shape the base during the first few minutes of filling. Once there's enough water in, the shape holds on its own.
6. The pool is sitting a bit crooked.
Example photo: a Skinny Dip on uneven ground.

The Skinny Dip needs a properly level surface – and "level" means really level, not "almost level." If your garden slopes even slightly to one side, you'll see it in the pool right away.
The quickest test:
Run in a little water and watch where it pools. If it stays in the middle, your surface is level. If it clearly runs to one side, the ground isn't level – and you'll know straight away where to adjust.
7. Air is escaping somewhere
First things first: we check every single pool for leaks before it ships. Even so, the pool can pick up a hole from something sharp on the ground – even weeks later.
What to do:
- Check the ground again, closely. A root, a small stone, or a sharp twig hidden in the grass is all it takes.
- Find the leak.
- Apply one of the repair patches – there's one included with every Skinny Dip.
Tip for the future:
Lay a thin mat or a Care-Towel under the pool. It protects the PVC – and adds a little extra comfort.
If none of this helps.
Sometimes the issue goes a bit deeper – and that's exactly what we're here for.
Just get in touch through our contact page, ideally with a photo. We reply quickly, find a solution – and more often than not, it only takes a small adjustment in the end.
Because that's the whole point of the Skinny Dip: it should make your summer easier, not more complicated.
