Ready, Set, Dip – the first setup
Your Skinny Dip Luxe Lounger has arrived.
Now, just a few steps stand between you and your first Skinny Dip summer.
And honestly: it doesn't get much more complicated than this. Here's the setup – plus the insider tips you won't find in any standard manual.
Step 1: The right spot.
The Luxe Lounger needs a level surface.
Grass works perfectly. So does a patio. Stone slabs are fine – small pebbles, roots, or sharp bumps are not.
If you're unsure, just lay a thin protective mat underneath. That's usually enough.
And one important note upfront: no balcony.
When filled, the Luxe Lounger weighs over a ton – that's more than most balconies can take.
Step 2: Inflate.
Inflating it by mouth isn't an option. We found the perfect electric air pump for you – on Amazon for under 10 euros. It fits all three valve sizes on the Skinny Dip (0.6 / 1.6 / 2.3 cm) and gets the job done in just a few minutes.
The setup itself is simple:
first, inflate the built-in lounge seats, then the outer pool walls. This keeps the shape even and stable.
Important: don't over-inflate.
The Luxe Lounger looks right when it's slightly taut – almost as if it's floating a little. That's when the shape is at its best.
Step 3: Add water.
Connect the hose, turn on the water, done.
Depending on water pressure, filling takes about 30 to 60 minutes. It holds around 1,000 liters in total.
The Villa Edition also has a built-in fill-level marker. Just fill it up to there – no further.
A perfect moment, by the way, to chill some drinks and lay out towels.
The Wrinkle Hack
Once there's a little water in the pool, gently pull on the side walls during the first few minutes.
This helps smooth out the creases in the base – for a sleeker look and a nicer finish.
Insider tip:
If you have time, let the water sit overnight before you jump in.
The water settles to the outside temperature, the PVC eases into shape even better – and the next morning, the pool looks especially good and Instagram-worthy.

A repair patch comes with every Skinny Dip. You'll probably never need it, since we leak-test every pool before shipping. Still, it's good to have on hand.
That's all there is to it. Four minutes of setup, one hour of water, a whole summer of reward.
Ready. Set. Dip.
